这座庄园于14世纪初被赠予王室，并曾作为几位国王年少时或在位期间的居所。经过几个世纪的皇室使用后，宫廷于16世纪彻底离开了这座建筑。

这座庄园展示了考陶尔德家族非同寻常的选择：将中世纪建筑与1930年代的奢华舒适并存。如今，房间仍保持着那个时期的陈设，家具和细节均出自同一时代。
